The Love Boat

November 21st, 2009 | By admin

Although it was the Princess Cruiseline who was known as the original “Love Boat”, my husband and I, along with several others just got back from a Carnival group cruise we put together through Carnival and YTB.

Recently engaged, Steve and Shannon

Our cruise took on it’s very own title of the “Love Boat” this week as friends and YTB TSO’s (Travel Store Owners), Steve Lange and Shannon Lawrence became ENGAGED while on this cruise. A BIG CONGRATULATIONS GO OUT TO STEVE AND SHANNON!!!!!

We started planning this cruise last December and several other couples joined us.  We left November 12th and just returned home on the 20th.  With ports of call in Costa Rica, Panama and Belize it was a very different cruise for any other we have taken.  Watch for additional blogs about the ports we visited this week along with some exciting group cruises coming up.

This cruise for our 5th year anniversary, and our birthdays was one of our favorite cruises. 8 Days, 3 ports of call,we had a blast with our YTB TSO’s and friends. Carnival Miracle is our favorite ship so far.

We started everyday with fresh coffee and fruit in our cabin, by room service.

We enjoyed the many different cuisines offered for lunch daily.
and an elegant dinner every night with our friends.

We celebrated our 5th year anniversary with a special dinner for 2 at Nick and Nora’s dining. A 2 1/2 special dinner service provided just for us. This was one of our most enjoyable evenings.

Costa Rica- We went on a tour through the banana plantation, and took a boat ride through the Rain Forrest where we saw, sloths, spider monkeys, cayman, iguanas, and many different tropical birds.

Panama- we took a bus tour to the seaside town of Porto Bella. We toured the fortresses dating back to the 1600’s which provided fortification from the Caribbean sea. There we also saw the Black Church and the way of life for some of the Panamanians.

Then we toured the Gatun Locks. The largest of 3 sets of locks on the Panama Canal. Fascinating!

Belize- We took a 35 minute water taxi from the City of Belize, to the beautiful island of Cay Caulker. We walked the sand covered main street to the secluded split, where we found the lazy lizards bar.

There we enjoyed snorkling and local libation to the sounds of cool Caribbean music.

Ft Lauderdale- Before heading back to the airport, we took a motor coach tour to the Everglades. There we took a 1 hour, air boat ride through the rivers of the Everglades. We saw several alligators, vultures, flamingos,
    iguanas, and many birds.

We all need time away from the daily stresses in life. Time to sit back, relax, and enjoy one another! This was our TIME AWAY!
A very memorable and wonderful vacation.

Take a cruise, where your on a truly relaxing, stress free, and fun vacation!
